What a great experience! Initially dealt with Ashley to get an emergency booking and she was absolutely fantastic and assured me everything would be okay and the would fix the problem. I had the pleasure of having Harley come out to my place to fix a very smelly blocked drain problem and he was great. Called before arriving and once here, was very transparent with everything he needed to do, reassured me he would be able to fix it and then once he did fix it, made sure it was clean and even turned my fans on to air the crap smell. Will definitely recommend these guys and will 100% use them again if I need to!

Blocked Drains in Williamstown, VIC
Williamstown is one of the oldest parts of Melbourne, and a lot of its homes still drain through clay sewer pipes laid generations ago. Blockage Bros gets the camera into the line first, so the fix suits a period house and its garden.
Walk the streets back from Nelson Place and the Strand and you see Victorian and Edwardian cottages, weatherboards and bluestone, many of them carefully kept. Behind those front fences the sewer drains are usually vitrified clay, often original, sometimes with a section or two swapped out over the years. Every one of those old joins, mortared or rubber-ringed, is a possible way in for roots, and each patched section adds two more.
And there are plenty of roots about. Mature street trees, old gardens and the odd big fig or gum have been growing beside those pipes for a very long time. Close to the bay the ground can stay wet for much of winter, and the reactive clay further inland still moves with the seasons. The result is the classic older-suburb pattern: slow drains and gurgling that build up over months, then a full blockage after heavy rain.
What we find in Williamstown drains
Roots in original clay
Roots get into old joins and grow into a mass that stops the line. See tree root removal.
Water coming up the shower
When the main sewer line blocks, the lowest outlet in the house, often a shower or floor waste, overflows first. See sewer repairs.
Damage under gardens and paths
A cracked line under a heritage garden or tiled path can be sealed from inside instead of dug out. See pipe relining.
How a drain job runs in Williamstown
Most Williamstown jobs start at a gully or inspection point near the back of the house. From there the camera runs the full line and the locator marks it above ground, which matters on blocks where the garden, the paving and the facade are all worth protecting. The crew also works through Newport, Spotswood and Williamstown North.
Your sewer drain usually stays your responsibility until it meets Greater Western Water's main at the property connection point. If the footage shows the blockage beyond that, check with Greater Western Water.

In Williamstown, relining is often the way to fix an old clay line without disturbing gardens, paving or period features, provided the pipe has not collapsed.

CCTV drain inspection →Sewer Repairs in Williamstown
Where the camera finds a broken length of the private line, that length is renewed at the marked spot and tested before the ground goes back.
Sewer repairs →Drain Maintenance in Williamstown
For an older home with big trees nearby, regular root cutting and jetting keeps the line open until a permanent fix suits the owner.
Drain maintenance →Drain Testing in Williamstown
A static test tells you if an old clay line leaks, and isolation testing narrows down which part.
Static and isolation testing →Also in Williamstown: blocked drains, blocked toilets, drain cleaning & hydro jetting, drain locating, drain repairs and replacements, stormwater drain repairs.
Three priced options. You choose.
Once the camera shows the cause, your quote gives you all three, each with its own price.
Clear it
Jetted clear today. The lowest price, but if the pipe is damaged it will block again.
Repair the fault
The damaged section located, dug up and replaced. Fixes the cause at that spot.
The permanent solution
The run relined or replaced, so roots and breaks cannot come back.
Prices depend on what the camera finds. You see all three before any work starts.

Blocked drains in Williamstown: common questions
Will fixing my drain mean digging up my front garden?
Not necessarily. The locator pinpoints the fault from above, so any excavation is one tidy hole, and a cracked but intact pipe can be relined with no trench at all.
Water is coming up through my shower. What does that mean?
Usually the main sewer line is blocked, very often by roots, and the shower is simply the lowest point for the water to escape. It needs clearing promptly, and someone is on call 24/7 to do it.
Who looks after the sewer in Williamstown?
Greater Western Water maintains the main. The private drain from your house to the connection point is usually yours, and the camera footage shows which side the blockage is on.
