Great work by Chris today, really appreciate response to call out on a weekend, and fixed the blockage for us!

Blocked Drains in Sunbury, VIC
Sunbury sits on hilly ground above Jacksons Creek, and plenty of its 1970s to 1990s homes drain through clay pipe patched with plastic, laid down sloping blocks. Blockage Bros puts a camera through the line before anything is quoted.
A lot of Sunbury's housing went up between the 1970s and the 1990s, in Goonawarra, around the town centre and along the streets that climb away from the creek. Drains from that period are often a patchwork: clay pipe leaving the house, then a PVC section where someone later repaired or extended the line. The join between the two materials is a weak point, and so is any old clay collar that has shifted. Gums and bottlebrush planted when those blocks were new now have roots long enough to find both.
The ground does not help. Sunbury has reactive clay soil that dries and shrinks over summer, then swells again when the rain returns, slowly pulling joins apart. Sloping blocks add their own trouble, because a pipe laid on a steep fall can carry the water away faster than the solids, leaving waste to gather at the bends. On the newer estates at the edge of town, plastic lines are more likely to block with wipes or leftover builder's debris than with roots.
What usually goes wrong with Sunbury drains
Roots at a clay-to-PVC join
Roots squeeze in where an old clay pipe meets a newer plastic section, and the drain slows until it stops. See tree root removal.
Joins pulled apart by moving soil
Dry summers and wet winters shift the pipe until a join opens, letting soil and roots in and water out. See drain repairs.
Water coming up the shower
When the main sewer line backs up, the lowest outlet in the house shows it first, often the shower. See sewer repairs.
Pits overflowing at the bottom of the yard
Stormwater rushing downhill carries silt and leaves into the lowest pit, and a crushed pit cannot cope. See stormwater drain repairs.
How a drain job runs in Sunbury
Blockage Bros is based in Melton, so Sunbury is reached through Diggers Rest, and Bulla and Riddells Creek are covered on the same trip. Someone is on call 24/7. On a steep block the locator marks where the fault is and how deep it sits, so any dig happens at one spot rather than across a terraced garden. Out in the street, the main belongs to Greater Western Water; the pipe linking it to the house usually belongs to the owner.

Tree Root Removal in Sunbury
Roots are cut out of the Sunbury line and it is jetted clean, though a cracked clay join lets them back unless it is sealed or replaced.
Tree root removal →Drain Locating in Sunbury
On sloping blocks the locator pinpoints the fault and its depth, keeping any dig clear of retaining walls where possible.
Drain locating →Pipe Relining in Sunbury
A cured liner inside the old clay seals every join along the run, with no trench cut down a terraced yard.
Pipe relining →Stormwater Drain Repairs in Sunbury
The low pit on a sloping block takes the most silt and leaf litter, and a collapsed one is dug out and replaced.
Stormwater drain repairs →CCTV Drain Inspection in Sunbury
The camera shows exactly where clay turns to PVC and whether that join has moved.
CCTV drain inspection →Also in Sunbury: blocked drains, blocked toilets, drain cleaning & hydro jetting, drain maintenance, static and isolation testing, drain repairs and replacements, sewer repairs.
Three priced options. You choose.
Once the camera shows the cause, your quote gives you all three, each with its own price.
Clear it
Jetted clear today. The lowest price, but if the pipe is damaged it will block again.
Repair the fault
The damaged section located, dug up and replaced. Fixes the cause at that spot.
The permanent solution
The run relined or replaced, so roots and breaks cannot come back.
Prices depend on what the camera finds. You see all three before any work starts.

Daniel was earlier than scheduled time, he phoned me to advise he was on his way, i appreciate that very much. Attended property for toilet blockage, able to fix promptly and also gave me some tips for moving forward to help avoid blockages, very knowledgeable and assured they'd be back immediately if I experience any further issues. I'm very impressed and would highly recommend. Thanks team

Massive shout out to Brandon for attending my rental in kurunjang twice in a matter of afew weeks due to a blockage in the drain. He was friendly, extremely professional and efficient in both visits. He did an outstanding job rectifying the issue and for that I am extremely grateful and appreciative for all his efforts and hard work. Thanks Brandon!
Had Chris and his apprentice come and help with a blocked pipe. At all times Chris was very clear and transparent about what work was required and took the time to show using the camera, explaining why the pipe needed replacing. Thanks guys amazing work.
What a great experience! Initially dealt with Ashley to get an emergency booking and she was absolutely fantastic and assured me everything would be okay and the would fix the problem. I had the pleasure of having Harley come out to my place to fix a very smelly blocked drain problem and he was great. Called before arriving and once here, was very transparent with everything he needed to do, reassured me he would be able to fix it and then once he did fix it, made sure it was clean and even turned my fans on to air the crap smell. Will definitely recommend these guys and will 100% use them again if I need to!
Ryan and Michael from McQueen group provided me with thorough and very helpful advice. They did a great job identifying the reason my shower wouldn't drain properly and they fixed the problem efficiently. They were very professional and friendly to deal with. Highly recommended.
Blocked drains in Sunbury: common questions
Why does my Sunbury drain block again a few months after it was cleared?
Clearing removes the roots but does not close the crack they came through. If the camera shows a cracked or shifted join, Option 1 buys time, while Options 2 and 3 fix the pipe itself.
Is the drain at my Sunbury home my responsibility or the water authority's?
The private pipe between your house and the main is usually yours, and Greater Western Water maintains the main itself. Should the camera put the blockage on their side, check with them.
How much does it cost to fix a blocked drain in Sunbury?
It depends on where the blockage is and what caused it. Once the camera shows the cause, you get three options with prices, in writing, and choose one before the work begins.
